MINDFUL SUPPORT SPACE

Social good UX project focused on research and funnel strategy to improve access to mental health resources.

UX Research & Strategy 4-week project

OVERVIEW

Mindful Support Space is a social good UX project designed to make mental health resources more accessible through workshops, toolkits, and guided support. My role focused on research and strategy, where I identified user needs and helped define a structured funnel that guides users from awareness to action. The goal was to reduce overwhelm and create a clear, supportive user journey.

PROJECT GOAL

To design a research-driven experience that increases engagement with mental health resources by simplifying navigation, building trust, and guiding users toward workshop participation through a structured funnel strategy.

About the project

Mindful Support Space is a mental health education platform focused on providing accessible, low-cost support for individuals navigating stress, life transitions, and emotional challenges. It offers expert-led workshops, practical toolkits, and optional one-on-one support.

The experience was designed to feel approachable and non-overwhelming, using clear language and structured content. A key part of the solution is a funnel strategy that introduces users through low-pressure entry points, like a free toolkit, and gradually guides them toward deeper engagement.

The Challenge

THE PROBLEM

Individuals seeking mental health support often feel overwhelmed by the amount of information available and unsure where to begin. Without clear structure and accessible entry points, users may struggle to engage with available resources, limiting both their experience and the platform’s impact.

How might we make mental health resources feel simple, approachable, and easy to navigate?

Understanding the user

To better understand user needs, I combined secondary research with an online questionnaire to identify key barriers such as overwhelm, lack of clear starting points, and the need for simple, accessible support. These insights were translated into personas and guided the design of a low-pressure, research-driven funnel that helps users move from awareness to meaningful engagement while building trust and accessibility.

KEY INSIGHTS

  • Many users frequently experience stress but don’t know where to start

  • Overwhelming content discourages engagement

  • Clear, supportive language builds trust

  • Low-cost and flexible options increase participation

  • Free resources (like toolkits) encourage first-step action
